Raincoats and jackets are an essential item for those of us living in the Upper Blue Mountains. Sometimes we’re enshrouded in mist or fog for days on end, and lately we’ve had more than our share of rain.

Our raincoats range in price from $55 to $200 plus.

At the lower end, we stock a plastic raincoat for both men and women which is lightweight and comes to below the knee. This raincoat has a hood and pockets and is perfect for everyday use It comes in a colours including navy, red, raspberry and lime.

Another practical unisex raincoat is from the well-known Rainbird brand. It’s available in navy only, but is more robust. It’s a shorter jacket, just above the knee, and has a hood and pockets as well as vents to allow better circulation. Rainbird offers a 3 year warranty against defects.

From time to time we also carry Rainbird anoraks for both men and women.

An exciting new arrival for women is a rain jacket made from organic cotton which is showerproof. This jacket comes in vibrant colours, with a contrast patterned lining and has been a big hit with our customers. It’s stylish enough to wear as an everyday jacket, and sells for just over $200.

The viscose lining is derived from sustainable wood pulp, and unlike traditional polyester linings it feels soft and warm against your skin and is completely breathable.
